Recall filing and affected vehicles

Ford Motor Company has announced a recall covering some 2023–2024 Ford Transit vans. The action is listed in the NHTSA database as 26V061000 and involves 1,403 vehicles.

Ford Transit safety risk: front engine crossmember mounting

The recall stems from an improperly secured front engine crossmember mounting. If the powertrain shifts out of position, the vehicle may lose drive or the braking system may fail, increasing the likelihood of a road traffic accident. The defect relates to components that form part of the vehicle’s load-bearing structure.

Free repair and owner notification schedule

As part of the campaign, Ford dealers will replace the engine crossmember fasteners at no cost.

Safety-risk notification letters are scheduled to begin being sent to owners from 20 February 2026. Further correspondence will follow once the final remedy is approved. VIN checks will be available on the NHTSA website from 4 February 2026.

Customer support and campaign reference

Because the Ford Transit is widely used by small businesses, the manufacturer advises owners not to delay contacting a dealer. For further details, customers can get in touch with Ford customer support and quote the internal campaign reference 26S04.
