Toyota has told the press that production of the current Supra will come to an end in March 2026. In the same statement, the Japanese manufacturer also offered thanks for the “support of its customers”.

“Regarding the Supra, production will end in March 2026. We are very grateful for the support of our many customers. We deeply regret that customers interested in purchasing have been informed of the production shutdown,” the brand said.

Toyota confirms Supra production ends in March 2026

That means the Japanese sports car will remain on the production line until the end of the first quarter of next year, with the Toyota GR Supra A90 Final Edition acting as the official farewell.

GR Supra A90 Final Edition: a limited-run send-off

Limited to just 300 units for Europe and Japan, it comes with an upgraded version of the straight-six engine. Guilherme runs through all the details in the video below:

Graz plant and the BMW Z4 connection

The Graz factory in Austria will therefore wave goodbye to yet another model it assembles. The Supra is built on the very same line as the BMW Z4, with which it shares its platform and a number of other components.

Even though it was at times labelled a “bastard child” because of its close ties to BMW-and precisely because it shares so many parts with the Z4-the current Supra generation has still won over plenty of Toyota loyalists, as well as some new fans.

Toyota dealers to offer alternative GR models

In that same statement, Toyota also noted that its dealers are already contacting prospective buyers-people who were preparing to purchase a Supra-with the aim of proposing alternative models within the GR range.

Supra is “dead”. Long live the Supra?

Despite production ending, the Japanese carmaker made it clear the Supra name is not going away. The brand has already confirmed it is “studying new solutions for the future”, which suggests a successor is already being developed. According to some rumours, we could see the next Supra as early as 2027-possibly with an electrified powertrain or a high-performance hybrid system.

With the end now confirmed, the Toyota Supra is entering the final stretch of its commercial life. The last European cars are expected to be delivered between late 2025 and early 2026, officially closing a chapter that began in 2019 and marked the return of one of the most iconic names in Toyota’s history.
