In a fresh milestone that strengthens its footprint in the strategically important Asia–Pacific region, Spanish company Urovesa has confirmed the forthcoming supply of one hundred new VAMTAC military tactical vehicles to the Singapore Armed Forces. This new batch sits within an ongoing contractual relationship that began in 2013, when the first agreement was signed, followed by a second in 2018 and a third in 2023.
Contract timeline between Urovesa and the Singapore Armed Forces
Although the official statement did not provide further detail, the Spanish firm indicated that the delivery of the hundred vehicles to the Singapore Armed Forces will span several models, in order to meet stated requirements and “
…to satisfy the high technological and quality standards required by the customer…”.
As noted, the contractual relationship between Urovesa and the Singapore Armed Forces dates back to 2013, when an initial contract was formalised for a total of 60 VAMTAC vehicles. Later, in 2018, another agreement set out the supply of ten additional vehicles.
2024–2026 deliveries: 100 VAMTAC in multiple configurations
Now, following the agreements formalised in 2023, it has been established that, over the 2024–2026 period, the country’s armed forces will receive a further tranche made up of one hundred (100) VAMTAC in various configurations, thereby reaffirming the Spanish-made vehicle as “
…one of the most reliable and robust platforms in the world”.
Urovesa’s other international VAMTAC programmes
It is also worth highlighting that Urovesa has continued to move forward with the supply of tactical and utility vehicles for forces in other countries, as is the case with New Zealand. During 2025, delivery was completed of the first VAMTAC ST5 prototype vehicle to the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF), as part of an order for 60 units under New Zealand’s Protected Mobility Capability Project (PMCP).
