Portugal becomes the world capital of supercars
Portugal was the global hub for supercars last weekend. As well as welcoming a squadron of Swedish hypercars across the country, Vila Real also hosted another edition of Gathering Supercars, an event marking its fifth anniversary.
Gathering Supercars in Vila Real: more than 100 machines
In Vila Real, the meet brought together more than 100 examples - add the super- and hyper- prefixes to the word sports cars as the machinery demands - from brands including Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche and McLaren, among others.
Rare supercars and debut appearances
There was also room for rarer supercars such as the Ford GT and the Kimera Evo37. The latter is a tribute to the iconic Lancia 037 and made its Portugal debut at this Gathering Supercars.
A breathtaking view, up close and in action
For the many people who travelled to Vila Real, the spectacle was undoubtedly breathtaking: not only could they admire these dream cars at close quarters, they could also watch them in action.
